The male sits on his own little platform and will feed the hen through the interior entrance hole. She usually stays in the box for most of the incubation period.
The small apartment nest box has interior dimensions that are 16" tall, 13" side to side, and 10" front to back. Entrance hole is 3.5".
Left or Right mounted boxes are determined by which side of your habitat the box will be mounted if you are standing in front, facing the habitat.
We refer to the front of the box as the side the entrance hole is located. The inspection door on this box is on the side that will face towards you if you are standing in front of the cage.
